This learning site is intentionally simple. Children can explore Chinese language and culture without creating an account, building a profile, or sharing personal information.
Current status: the site is publicly available and continues to be actively developed and improved.
Aggregate analytics only
Cloudflare provides traffic summaries—not learner profiles or advertising tracking.
Learning stays local
Answers and short practice input are handled inside the browser.
Child-conscious visuals
Artwork is prepared and reviewed before it appears on the site.
Information we do not collect
The current version does not ask for a child’s or family member’s name, email address, home address, phone number, birthday, school, photograph, voice recording, or precise location.
- There are no user accounts or logins.
- There is no learner database or cloud-saved progress.
- There are no advertisements or personalized recommendations.
- There is no public posting, chat, file upload, or social profile.
What happens inside the browser
Buttons, matching games, and short answers are processed on the device. They are used to show immediate learning feedback and are not submitted to this project.
One saved preference
The site uses the browser’s local storage to remember the selected Culture reading level—Easy, Medium, or Advanced. This setting stays on that device, is not a personal profile, and can be removed by clearing the site’s browser data.
Audio uses packaged recordings or the browser’s built-in speech feature. The site does not request microphone access and does not record a learner’s voice.
Cloudflare hosting and aggregate analytics
The public website is delivered through Cloudflare, a widely used website infrastructure and security provider. Cloudflare helps pages load quickly, routes each request through its global network, and helps protect the site from malicious traffic and attacks.
To deliver and protect the website, Cloudflare processes ordinary technical request information, which can include an IP address, approximate country, browser type, requested page, request time, and performance information. Cloudflare also provides the project with aggregate traffic statistics, such as visits, page views, and page-loading performance.
These summaries help us understand whether the website is working well. We do not use them to identify children, follow an individual across websites, build learner profiles, or serve personalized advertising. The site does not add Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or an advertising tracker.
How visual content is kept child-conscious
The live website does not generate images for visitors. Illustrations are created or selected before publication, then reviewed for learning value, historical clarity, and age-appropriate presentation.
- No gore, blood, graphic injury, or frightening harm.
- Direct strike-impact scenes are avoided when an idea can be taught another way.
- Historical weapons, armor, or conflict may appear when educationally relevant, but the focus stays on context, objects, preparation, or technology—not suffering.
- Images should clarify the lesson rather than add dramatic or misleading action.
Anonymous feedback through Google Forms
The Feedback & Problems page provides two Google Forms: one for reporting a problem and one for sharing general feedback. People may submit either form anonymously: the forms do not require a Google sign-in and do not automatically collect an email address. A contact email is optional for anyone who would like a reply.
The problem form asks where an issue appeared and what happened; the feedback form asks what is helpful and what should be improved. Please do not include a child’s name, school, contact details, or other identifying information.
Anonymous means the project will not ask who the respondent is. Because the form is provided by Google, Google may still process ordinary technical information under its own privacy practices. Form responses are stored with Google and are visible only to the project owner and any specifically authorized form collaborators.
When this page must change
The privacy and security plan must be reviewed before adding accounts, cloud-saved progress, teacher dashboards, payments, user uploads, personalized advertising, new analytics services, or any form that requires contact information.
For families: learning activities never require a child to type personal information. Feedback can be submitted without a name or email address.
